Turmeric farming first hand.....
When looking into what goes into farming turmeric and the manpower behind it, what better than to look to an organic farm known specifically for its association with the cultivation of turmeric. Kauai Organic Farms located in Hawaii is an organic farm owned by Phil and Linda Green off the North Shore of the Kauai island.
This farm has been family owned for 10 years and the Green's employ 15 other local farmers to help them produce their many crops. Turmeric farming for this family is at its peak in the winter seasons, however there are many practices and processes they have picked up over the years to keep their crops top notch and fungus free in the off seasons.
Because this is an organic farm, this family pays their employees to hand weed each of the plants instead of using herbicides that are harmful.
